Black Walnut Bowl with Bead Rim | Medium | Sealed w/Polyurethane & Finished with Food Grade Mineral Oil/Beeswax/Carnauba Wax | SOLD!

This is the second item turned from a beautiful load of black walnut the Beard sourced locally (just north of the Kankakee area) from some nice folks who had an incredibly tall black walnut tree lose a large limb.  With a diameter of just under 9", this medium size bead rim bowl is a perfect size for a bowl of popcorn or chips.  Turned wet, sealed with multiple coats of polyurethane which was buffed at high speed and finished with a mix of Food-Grade Mineral Oil, Beeswax, & Carnauba Wax and polished to a nice gloss.  The pictures don't do this wood justice - it is simply stunning.

*Because this wood was "once turned" and finished while having a high moisture content, it is at marginal risk of warping and possibly even cracking over time.  It was sealed (except for the foot) with a couple of coats of polyurethane before being finished with a mixture of food grade mineral oil/beeswax/carnauba wax.  Hopefully it will equalize it's moisture content with the environment slowly enough to avoid too much warping or cracking.
