Handmade Aromatic Eastern Red Cedar Urn & 200 Year old Yew Finial Lid by St. Anne Woodturner - Wood Box - Wood Vase - Beautiful Centerpiece

I turned this Aromatic Eastern Red Cedar hollow form / box / urn out of locally salvaged wood in July 2024. I made the lid for the box as a finial out of some amazing 200 year old Yew I was given last month. The Yew is yellowish in color so I ebonized the finial so it would contrast the beautiful cedar vase.

The total height is around 20 inches. The hollow form is 10.25" tall and 4.5# diameter. The finial adds another 9.75" when sitting on top.

The vase is only hollowed around 1/2 way down so it has enough weight in the bottom to keep from easily tipping over.
