Black walnut bowl #7 turned this week in Saint Anne, IL, wood sourced from Mokena, IL this summer. Bowl was turned wet, polished with Yorkshire Grit and sealed with polyurethane, then buffed to a matte finish and polished with the Beall Buffing System.

*Because this wood was "once turned" and finished while having a high moisture content, it is at marginal risk of warping and possibly even cracking over time.  It was sealed (except for the foot) with a couple of coats of polyurethane before being waxed and polished.  Hopefully it will equalize it's moisture content with the environment slowly enough to avoid too much warping or cracking however it does contain one tiny pith that is at a higher risk of developing a crack over time.
