Handmade Yew Bud Vase from Mystery Attic Wood Signed by St. Anne Woodturner Shane Boland

I was given some mystery wood last week that had been in the attic of a local home since 1968 when the home was purchased from some folks in the Carnival (so we aren't sure where the wood is originally from). I believe it is Yew. It's growth rings are so small, there are around 130 of then in the relatively small log this bud vase is made out of.

The wood is very dense and heavy considering it has been drying for at least 60 years.

Finished with boiled linseed oil, cellulose sanding sealer and clear gloss lacquer. Happy to deliver locally in Kankakee County.

Vase measures nearly 6" tall x 5" diameter.
