Black Walnut and Maple Nunchucks

This is the first pair of nunchaku (nunchucks) the Beard ever turned.  Each side of the nunchaku set was turned from a segmented glue-up of beautiful locally sourced black walnut and strips of maple accents.  The process was fun and exciting to do and serves as a part of the history of Sensei and the Beard.  While Sensei and her brother (the other Sensei) were preparing for their blackbelt test in early 2023, they decided to make their Sensei a gift to show their appreciation for the 5 years of training he provided to them.  What better present to make than some bad @$$ nunchaku!  While Sensei cornered the market on the weapon, her brother made a beautiful black walnut finger joint box to present them in.  The set can be viewed at Sensei Steve's Karate Dojo in Momence, IL to this day.

While the set Sensei made was given as a gift and not available for sale, this segmented pair was our test run at making nunchaku and turned out too nice not to share.  These are available now and would make a great Christmas or birthday gift for anyone who would appreciate some locally hand made weaponry like these.
